The Procedure of Sign Test and SAS Implementation

چکیده
1. Data The data consist of observations on a bivariate random sample (X1, Y1), · · · , (Xn′ , Yn′), where there are n′ pairs of observations. There should be some natural basis for pairing the observations; otherwise the X’s and Y ’s are independent, and the more powerful MannWhitney test is more appropriate. Within each pair (Xi, Yi) a comparison is made, and the pair is classified as “plus” or “+” if Xi < Yi, as “minus” or “−” if Xi > Yi, or as “tie” or “0” if Xi = Yi. Thus the measurement scale needs only to be ordinal.

متن کاملEstimation of Type III Error and Power for Directional Two-Tailed Tests Using PROC POWER
By imposing directional decisions on traditional two-tailed tests, you will overestimate power, underestimate sample size, and ignore the risk of Type III error. You can avoid these problems by using the directional two-tailed test. This paper demonstrates how to use PROC POWER to estimate the prospective power and Type III error for one-sample, two-sample and paired t tests for means, and bino...

متن کاملNeural Network Implementation in SAS
The estimation or training methods in the neural network literature are usually some simple form of gradient descent algorithm suitable for implementation in hardware using massively parallel computations. For ordinary computers that are not massively parallel, optimization algorithms such as those in several SAS procedures are usually far more efficient. This talk shows how to fit neural netwo...
متن کاملStatistics USING THE SAS ® SYSTEM TO PERFORM MCNEMAR ' S TEST AND CALCULATE THE KAPPA STATISTIC FOR MATCHED PAIRS OF DATA
Dichotomous responses from matched pairs of data at different timepoints are often displayed in 2 by 2 tables, and McNemar's test is performed to test the hypothesis that the proportion of subjects with a certain response is equivalent at both timepoints. A kappa statistic can determine the level of agreement in these responses. The SAS procedure FREQ can perform a large sample approximation to...
